Day of music marks 50th birthday.


COVENTRY'S Ukrainian Youth Association celebrated its 50th birthday with a day of traditional music and dancing on Saturday Saturday: see week; Sabbath. .

Celebrations are a chocolate collection made by Mars, Incorporated comprising miniature versions of favorite Mars-produced bars.
 was Lord Mayor Cllr Joan Wright, who was greeted with gifts of bread and salt - a Ukrainian tradition which symbolises the guest will never go hungry.

The welcome was followed by a two and a half hour concert by the association's 80 members at the group's HQ in Leicester Leicester (lĕs`tər), city (1991 pop. 324,394) and district, Leicestershire, central England. The Ukrainian Youth Association was founded in 1925 to keep the country's cultures and traditions alive as it became part of the Soviet Union.

The Coventry branch was founded in 1949 at the Brooklands Hostel where a group of Ukrainian immigrants were living.

Since then the Ukrainian community has grown and spread around the city. There are now three generations involved in the association with the original founders working alongside their children and grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16. .

The association's secretary Maria Dzula said: "We have members as young as three up to the first generation of members now in their 70s."
