YESTERDAY'S transfer deadline in Scotland was a bit like myself - short and cheap.

10am: The "excitement" starts with the news Izzy Iriekpen has his Hamilton contract cancelled after a month claiming his family are homesick.

1.40pm: Suddenly, a rush of excitement when the SFA released their list of transfers so far.

Well, not so much of a list, as a very small collection of players and clubs, some of which you'd never heard.

Robbie Winters from Clyde to Livingston, Kris Renton on loan from Norwich to Brechin and Gilli Sorensen's switch to Aberdeen from TB Tvooroyrar Boltfelag are all rubber-stamped.

Steve Lovell, freed by Falkirk, signed for Bournemouth.

And there was Old Firm transfers ... Motherwell kid Liam Gormley joined Celtic, while Polish teenager Kamil Wiktorski was snapped up from Bydgoszcz and Rangers' Turkish striker Isa Bagci joined Bursapor in his homeland.

3pm: Rangers announce a press conference with French winger Jerome Rothen.

Motherwell complete the loan signing of Charlton's Yassin Moutaouakil.

3.40pm: Celtic keeper Mark Brown goes on loan to Kilmarnock.

4.10pm: China captain Zheng Zhi is going to be signed by Celtic.

4.15pm: Dundee striker Mickael Antoine-Curier goes on loan to Hamilton.

4.30pm: Montrose land Slovak Marek Tomana from Cowdenbeath.

4.55pm: Accies snap up Inverness' Richard Hastings.

5pm: And then it was all over. Sandy admitted: "That was the quietest window we've ever had."
