WHAT: Mayor John F. Street will help kick-off day three of the
PCMA Annual Meeting at Tuesday's general session at the
Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC). A variety of
educational sessions and events are planned with
highlights including a session on Embracing
Multiculturalism. The day starts off with a Rocky Run
where attendees will run from the Loews Philadelphia Hotel
along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the Philadelphia
Museum of Art.

DETAILS: 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. - Rocky Run - Loews Philadelphia Hotel,
12th & Market streets
Watch as PCMA attendees imitate "Rocky" as they run and
walk through the streets of Philadelphia. The run begins
at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel and concludes on the steps
of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the site where Rocky
Balboa made his triumphant run.
*Did you know? The sixth installment of the Rocky series
began filming yesterday (1/9/06) in Philadelphia.
8:00 - 9:30 a.m. - General Session - PCC Grand Hall, 12th
& Arch streets
The session begins with PCMA business, including remarks
by Philadelphia Mayor John F. Street, who will announce
PCMA Week in Philadelphia. The educational component will
be moderated by Emmy award-winning journalist, Meryl
Comer, with panelists Douglas McKenna, detective
superintendent, anti-terrorist branch of the Scotland
Yard; John Timoney, chief of the Miami Police Department
and former chief of the Philadelphia Police Department;
and a representative from U.S. Visa, Customs and
Immigration.
3:00 - 4:30 p.m. - Session: Embracing Multiculturalism -
Room 107, PCC, 12th & Arch streets
This session focuses on the benefits of being an inclusive
organization. Delegates will explore the best practices
for diversity in the hospitality industry. Panelists
include Tanya Hall, executive director, Multicultural
Affairs Congress, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors
Bureau; A. Bruce Crawley, chairman, African American
Chamber of Commerce; Sal Mendoza, director of diversity,
Hyatt Hotels Corporation; and Richard Lee Snow, executive
director, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Also, throughout the day, you can cover 35 cutting edge
education sessions affecting the meetings industry.
