WHAT: PCMA is meeting in Philadelphia from January 8-11, 2006.
More than 3,000 attendees are expected, including 1,500
meeting planners. Attendees will also celebrate the 50th
anniversary of PCMA in Philadelphia, the site of the first
PCMA annual meeting in 1957. PCMA's members represent $18
billion in buying power annually in the nation's meeting
and convention industry.

DETAILS: 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Hospitality Helping Hands - Nicetown
Boys & Girls Club, 18th and Hunting Park Avenue
Stop by PCMA's Hospitality Helping Hands event, where more
than 100 meeting attendees will step out of the convention
center and into the community. Many of the volunteers will
go to the Nicetown Boys & Girls Club to paint the
gymnasium and adjacent hallways.
10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Cabbie Car Wash - Taxi Cab Lot at
Philadelphia International Airport
Cab drivers will have their cabs washed, interior cleaned,
receive a voucher for lunch, air freshener and PCMA cab
receipts. Representatives from Philadelphia International
Airport, Philadelphia Parking Authority and PCVB will be
available for interviews and photos at noon.
1 - 4 p.m. - "Philadelphia In the Movies" - PCC, 12th &
Arch streets
Be the first to experience Philadelphia's newest tour,
"Philadelphia In the Movies," created by the Greater
Philadelphia Film Office just in time for PCMA. The
three-hour experience takes you to the steps of the
Philadelphia Museum of Art for a "Rocky" run and past
other locations where movies such as "The Sixth Sense,"
"In Her Shoes" and "12 Monkeys" were filmed. Get
behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the stars and sets and
watch movie clips to see how different, or similar, the
city looks in real life.
6 - 8 p.m. - PCMA Opening Reception - National
Constitution Center, 525 Arch Street
Hosted by the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau,
this is the perfect setting for 2,000 attendees to meet
new friends and network, while experiencing the living
Constitution of the United States. Also, enjoy a
breathtaking performance by Cirque du Soleil.
