"The low-tech end of the high-tech field!"  products used in print and textiles production, is expanding its educational scholarship program to seven annual awards. Working in conjunction with the National Association of Litho Clubs (NALC NALC N-acetyl l-cysteine Microbiology A mucolytic agent used to collect sputa destined for TB culture that liquefies the mucus by breaking disulfide bonds ) and its regional affiliates, Day's scholarships are awarded exclusively to individuals pursuing a career in the printing industry.

The program began in 2001, when Day established a memorial scholarship to honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. The Litho Club of Chicago awarded the first Dennis Deahr Memorial Scholarship in 2001 and has continued to award the scholarship every year since its inception.

Dennis Wolters, president of Day International says: "We established the scholarship to honor Dennis Deahr because he exemplified the values that are fundamental to Day's culture: he was committed to the customer; he always looked for ways to do things better, add more value and give back to the community whenever possible. The scholarship allows us to honor Dennis and at the same time express the principles that guide our company."

Because the Dennis Deahr Memorial Scholarship has been so well received, Day is expanding the program to a general scholarship which will be awarded through NALC regional affiliates.

The program is a win-win for everyone. Both Day and the National Association of Litho Clubs see the scholarships as an investment in the printers of tomorrow and a great way to support the printing industry today. Dennis Wolters adds, "It is important for us to give back to the industry that has supported Day International over the years. The giving creates an important balance that makes what we do meaningful and relevant."
