The BVA-100 is patented in the United States, European Common Market and Japan. Measurement of human blood volume is particularly important in conditions of sudden blood loss during surgery or medical complications which result in a hemorrhage. An accurate blood volume measurement would provide critical information that is needed as a guide for the quantity of blood transfusions to be administered to a patient.
