"We are pleased to provide accurate blood volume measurements through the use of the BVA-100 to the Houston medical market," stated John Reyes-Guerra, Daxor's Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "We anticipate that the BVA-100 will be used to determine volume derangements in many clinical conditions where measuring the patient's blood volume may be an important factor in treatment." The Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100 will reside within the Nuclear Medicine Department at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. This will be Daxor's first BVA-100 in Houston, Texas.

St. Luke's focus continues to be providing quality, patient-focused care. Physicians in 23 clinical services covering more than 40 specialties are supported by some of the most advanced technologies available. In 2001, St. Luke's cared for approximately 32,879 inpatients and received more than 220,000 outpatient and emergency room visits.

Daxor Corporation manufactures and markets the BVA-100, a semi-automated Blood Volume Analyzer. The BVA-100 is used in conjunction with a single use diagnostic kit. Among nationally renowned hospitals which have purchased the BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer after using it on a trial basis are The Mayo Clinic, The Cleveland Clinic and New York University New York University, mainly in New York City; coeducational; chartered 1831, opened 1832 as the Univ. of the City of New York, renamed 1896. It comprises 13 schools and colleges, maintaining 4 main centers (including the Medical Center) in the city, as well as the  Medical Center. This will be the first BVA-100 in Houston, Texas.
