Davis-Standard CEO retires.Robert Robert, Henry Martyn 1837-1923. American army engineer and parliamentary authority. He designed the defenses for Washington, D.C., during the Civil War and later wrote Robert's Rules of Order (1876). Noun 1. W. Ackley retired from his role as chief executive officer of Davis-Standard on September 9, after serving the company for 46 years. He continues to serve on the board of directors and remains an equity investor in the company. Ackley began his career with Crompton & Knowles' Davis-Standard unit in 1959. He has held a number of positions with Davis-Standard, eventually becoming president of the company. He was instrumental in the company's merger with Black Clawson Convetting Machinery. Ackley is a director and past chairman of the Society of the Plastics Industry Founded in 1937, The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. is the trade association representing one of the largest manufacturing industries in the United States. SPI's members represent the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment and a director of ASME ASME - American Society of Mechanical Engineers . He is also a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, the International Wire Association and the Plastic Pioneers Association.
