Steven Davis (born January 1, 1985 in Ballymena, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish international football player who currently plays for Fulham as a midfielder.

"It was sad to be part of that and it's also sad to see what is still happening.

"It's a real shame because it's a great club.

"Obviously, it was a wrench to leave but I felt I had to do that for my career.

"Now I am just looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Premier League.

"I'm settling in really well and the Southampton players are a good bunch."

Davis, 27, who spent four years at boyhood favourites Rangers after Walter Smith Walter Smith OBE (born February 24 1948 in Lanark) is a Scottish former football player, but is better known as a football manager. He is currently the manager of Scottish Premier League club Rangers, his second spell in that capacity with the club.  signed him from Fulham for pounds 3million, has yet to kick a ball for his new club as he strives to recover from a double hernia injury.

He added: "Obviously, I'm champing at the bit to get out there with the lads.

"I've had a few sessions with the physios and hopefully I'm not too far away from joining in full training and then getting some game time.

"That's the best place to be - out on the pitch."
