Jobs More Efficiently

Today, University Health Network (UHN UHN United Hackers Network (hacker group)

) and Davinci Technologies Inc. announced that the UHN Corporate Intranet will provide about 8,000 staff members at all levels with important information right at their desktops.

The launch of an extensive corporate Intranet at Canada's largest network of teaching hospitals provides thousands of employees with a strategic communications tool designed to save time, money and effort. The system spans across desktops throughout UHN's three teaching hospitals as well as Toronto Medical Laboratories, a joint venture between UHN and MDS MDS,

. The Intranet will also include a listing of the Network's emergency codes, corporate policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental  as well as profiles of various programs such as the Year 2000 Project and the Quality Improvement Program.

The implementation of UHN's Intranet delivers three major advantages to the organization. First, the authors can easily revise Intranet documents using web-based technology. Second, only the most current versions of these documents are accessible to users, eliminating inaccuracies or redundant information and improving employee productivity. Third, the costs and risks associated with manual, paper-based processes are reduced. UHN plans to expand its Intranet continually to reduce the organization's dependency on paper and to maintain its position as a leader in healthcare information management in Canada.

"UHN's Corporate Intranet is another example of Davinci's ability to deliver large-scale, enterprise-wide applications focusing on the customer," said Steven Rodin, President, Davinci Technologies Inc. "The University Health Network is well known for using the latest information management technology and will benefit significantly from our solutions. We are very proud to work with UHN, an organization which, early on, recognized the value of Davinci's expertise in Corporate Intranet development."
