He has served as vice president for operations and market initiatives for HCA's East Florida Division, where he was responsible for strategy development, implementation and operational oversight of market based initiatives and also worked with HCA's Capital Division, assisting facilities in West Virginia and Virginia. Prior to that, he served as president and chief executive officer for Aventura Hospital and Medical Center from 1992 until 2005. In addition, he has held senior management positions at Humana, Inc., including Sun Bay Hospital, Westside Regional Medical Center and Orange Park Medical Center as well as a regional role including several facilities. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Clark University in Worcester, Mass., and a master's degree in health care administration from Duke University.
