David Wetherell Resigns From Lycos Board of Directors.

ANDOVER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 1999--David S. Wetherell, a Director of Lycos, Inc. since its inception and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CMGI, Inc., resigned today from the Board of Directors of Lycos effective immediately. CMGI is the largest shareholder of Lycos, which has agreed, subject to shareholder approval, to become part of a new company including Lycos and parts of USA Networks.

Mr. Wetherell stated, "After further consideration, it is my opinion that the terms of the USA/Lycos transaction are inadequate for Lycos shareholders. As such, I am resigning from the Lycos Board in order to be free to explore the best options available to Lycos shareholders, including the possibility of Lycos remaining independent."
