David Tennant unveils The Waters Of Mars.

Doctor Who fans may be hiding behind their fingers when they watch the latest special. The Waters Of Mars is being billed as one of their scariest episodes ever.

Writer Russell T Davies Russell T Davies (real name: Russell Davies, born April 27, 1963) is a television producer and writer. He is best known for writing ground-breaking and sometimes controversial drama serials such as Queer as Folk and The Second Coming  said: "It's a very, very intense story. Everyone is trapped. The doctor is carrying some secrets with him that he cannot tell anyone".

It was a challenging instalment to shoot for the cast. The man behind the Timelord David Tennant David Tennant is the stage name of David John McDonald (born 18 April 1971), a Scottish actor from Bathgate, West Lothian, best known for portraying the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in the television series Doctor Who.  said: "Water is the villian in this. Filming with water is not easy because it does not necessarily hit its mark."

The Waters Of Mars also sees the Doctor with a new sidekick.

Actress Lindsay Duncan Lindsay Vere Duncan (born 7 November 1950) is a Tony Award-winning Scottish actress. She is a noted stage actress, winning the Tony Award for Private Lives.

Duncan was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to a father who served in the army for 21 years.
 plays Captain Adelaide Brooke. David Tennant added: "She is not really a companion like the others have been. She is not the sort of person you could imagine hooking up with him and riding off into the sunset, she's kind of the alpha male in the room".

The Waters of Mars will be shown on November 15.
