Dr. Parkinson worked for the National Cancer Institute from 1990 to 1997, rising to Acting Associate Director for the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program. He has also held senior positions at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and New England Medical Center. He received his M.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, founded in 1843 as a school of medicine.
