David McArthur receives StAR Studio Teacher Fellowship Award.David McArthur is the recipient of the 2007 StAR Studio Teacher Fellowship Award. McArthur is currently pursuing a doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance at the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he is a student of Doris Pridonoff Lehnert. Previously, McArthur studied with Janet Landreth at Colorado State University, where he obtained bachelor and master of music degrees. While at CSU, McArthur was awarded the Wendel Diebel Graduate Fellowship in Piano. He was also named Outstanding Graduate Student by the CSU Department of Music, Theater, and Dance. McArthur has been teaching piano and theory since 1999, both privately and at the university level. He has taught group piano classes and theory fundamentals courses at CSU. In addition, he has served on the faculty of several community music schools in the Fort Collins, Colorado area. Currently, he manages a growing private piano studio with his wife. McArthur intends to use the MTNA StAR Studio Fellowship Award to help him purchase a new instrument and to assist him with incorporating more technology in his teaching. |
