David M. Rigg is Appointed Director Exploration in Africa, by Trillion Resources.

KANATA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 1996--TRILLION RESOURCES (TSE:TLQ) Trillion Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce that Mr. David M. Rigg has been appointed to the position of Director Exploration, Africa.

Trillion Resources controls over 3 million hectares of exploration and mining properties in Africa. Its share of production from its 2 mines totals approximately 40,000 ounces of gold per year. David M. Rigg previously held the positions of Exploration Manager for the Agnico-Eagle Group of companies and Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist with Mines Goldex Ltee. He has accumulated over 18 years experience in exploration and mining in Ontario and Quebec and has greatly contributed to several significant discoveries including Musselwhite, Golden Extension and at the Lac Laronde Mine. The new Director Exploration will be based in Harare Zimbabwe where he joins Mr. Peter C. Busse, General Manager of Trillion Zimbabwe Ltd.

Mr. Rigg joins Trillion at a time of intense land acquisition and exploration activities throughout Africa including active programs in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Mali, South Africa and the Ivory Coast and the expansion of reserves at the Jena Mines complex in Zimbabwe operated and 50 percent owned by Trillion.

Through its investments, Trillion has a significant interest in the Segala exploration project in Mali where a resource exceeding 1,000,000 oz. of gold has been reported, and exploration is still continuing.

Trillion's exploration activities also include nickel and diamonds. A total of 18,536 metres of diamond drilling has now been completed on the deposits on the Touba-Biankouma property in the Ivory Coast. Falconbridge has undertaken regional stream sediment, prospecting and sample pit digging programs to further explore the 320,000 hectare property. Estimates of total reserves and resources identified to date are 169 million tonnes of ore at 1.77 percent Nickel and 0.08 percent Cobalt. Trillion expects resources to continue to increase.

The new kimberlite discovery at Sansukwe has, for its part, generated considerable interest. Construction of a bulk sampling plan to test, on site, the kimberlite pipe and 5 dykes located to date is underway. At least 20 additional kimberlite targets are indicated. The program is operated by Trillion and funded on a 50-50 basis with Nickelodeon Minerals Inc.
