David M. Moffett Nominated to MBIA's Board of Directors.

: MBI) announced today that its Board of Directors has nominated David M. Moffett (54) to stand for election as a Director. He will stand for election at MBIA's Annual Shareholders' Meeting, to be held Thursday, May 3, 2007.

Mr. Moffett has had a long and distinguished career in treasury, risk management and financial analysis in the banking industry. He was formerly Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Bancorp and its predecessor company Firstar Corporation, and served as Chief Financial Officer of Star Banc Corporation. Mr. Moffett is a Director of Building Materials Holding Corporation Building Materials Holding Corporation (NYSE: BLG) located in San Francisco, California is a holding company engaged, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, BMC West and SelectBuild Construction in the distribution and usage of building materials, selling primarily to , a NYSE-listed company.

Mr. Moffett received a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma University of Oklahoma, abbreviated OU, is a coeducational public research university located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Founded in 1890, it existed in Oklahoma Territory near Indian Territory 17 years before the two became the state of Oklahoma.  in 1974, and an MBA from Southern Methodist University Southern Methodist University, at Dallas, Tex.; United Methodist; coeducational; chartered 1911. The school's facilities include laboratories for electron microscopy and stable isotopes, a museum of paleontology, and a graduate research center.  the following year.
