), the world's largest franchiser of neighborhood retail centers specializing in postal, business and communications services, Tuesday announced that David M. Bennett has joined the company as executive vice president of operations support and development, a newly created position.

Bennett, 51, most recently served as president and chief executive officer with Macheezmo Mouse Restaurants Inc., a Mexican fast food chain which operates 19 restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. He has more than two decades of franchise industry experience.

Bennett previously served as vice president of operations for Marriott Corp.'s Travel Plaza Division, where he had P&L responsibility for a $325 million business with approximately 6,000 employees.

Prior to heading the Travel Plaza Division, he was vice president of Marriott's Sports Entertainment Division, where he launched and managed the corporation's stadium/arena business and theme entertainment business.

He joined Marriott in 1988 as regional vice president for Marriott Host International.
