David Grinbergs, DO, is the newly named medical director of informatics at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

David Grinbergs, DO, is the newly named medical director of informatics at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He previously served as the director of emergency, occupational health and hospital medicine services at Alegent. In his new position, Grinbergs will play a vital role in Alegent Health's system-wide efforts to implement sweeping changes in information systems technology, tie will lead the implementation of new technology that directly impacts physicians and the way they practice medicine, including the implementation of the electronic medical record and computer-assisted physician order entry. This new, integrated information model will aid physicians in diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for their patients. Grinbergs is board certified in emergency medicine and family practice and has been an active member of the ACPE since 1996. He is currently working toward a master's degree in medical management.
