David Douglass Joins NeuroMetrix Board of Directors.


CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BW HealthWire)--Jan. 22, 1999--NeuroMetrix, Inc., a developer of medical devices for the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases, announced today that David Douglass of Delphi Ventures has joined its Board of Directors.

"David brings a wealth of experience in the medical products industry that will be a valuable asset to the Company", said Richard J. Thomas, President. "He has been directly involved in the success of many device and diagnostic companies, and we will clearly benefit from his contributions to the Board. David Douglass is a General Partner at Delphi Ventures where he has focused primarily on medical device and service companies. Prior to joining Delphi, he was a General Partner at Matrix Partners. He had previously served as Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Mr. Douglass received a B.A. from Amherst College Amherst College, at Amherst, Mass.; founded 1821 as a college for men, coeducational since 1975. A liberal arts institution, Amherst maintains a cooperative program with Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, Hampshire College, and the Univ. of Massachusetts.  and earned a M.B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University Stanford University, at Stanford, Calif.; coeducational; chartered 1885, opened 1891 as Leland Stanford Junior Univ. (still the legal name). The original campus was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. David Starr Jordan was its first president. .

Mr. Douglass joins current investors Charles Harris, of Harris & Harris Group, and William Laverack, of J. H. Whitney & Co., as well as Dr. Gerald Fischbach, Director of the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke, on the NeuroMetrix Board of Directors. Dr. Gozani and Mr. Thomas are also Directors of the Company.
