BOB the Builder <noinclude></noinclude> <noinclude></noinclude> Bob the Builder is a children's television character created by Keith Chapman. Bob appears as a construction contractor in a stop motion animated programme with his colleague Wendy, various neighbours  has a Scots rival - Dave the Dry Stane Dyker.

Dave Goulder's hands-on instruction guide to the ancient style of walling is a big seller in Britain, the US and Canada.

The hour-long video has its own musical theme, These Dry Stone Walls, written by Dave and performed by American folk star Gordon Bok.

Gordon is set to go on a tour of North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  promoting the tape and dry-stone walling.

Dave, 63, from Sutherland, said: "The response has been very surprising. I am selling as many as I can get made - up to 50 a week.

"You can learn a lot from the video. I used to be a musician and entertainer, which gives it a bit of a fizz.

"Dry-stone is so old they can't trace its origins.

"Skara Brae Skara Brae (skâr`ə brā), Stone Age village, on Mainland in the Orkney Islands, N Scotland. Dating from c.3200 to 2200 B.C., the village was preserved under a sand dune until uncovered by a storm in 1851.  in Orkney, which is 5000 years old, was built with the same techniques we employ now, yet it is older than the pyramids."

Dave, of Rosehall, near Lairg, is a Master Craftsman A master craftsman (sometimes called only master or grandmaster) was a member of a guild. In the European guild system, only master craftsmen were allowed to actually be members of the guild.  with the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain Great Britain, officially United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, constitutional monarchy (2005 est. pop. 60,441,000), 94,226 sq mi (244,044 sq km), on the British Isles, off W Europe. The country is often referred to simply as Britain. , the craft's governing body.

Dry-stone walling is undergoing a revival, especially in Canada and the US, where Dave will fly in June for a tour of demonstrations.
