Legendary action sports hero Dave Mirra Dave Mirra (born April 4, 1974 in Chittenango, New York) is an American BMX athlete and business owner. Dave Mirra is known as BMX's most dominant athlete and arguably the most dominant extreme athlete of all-time.  and long-time sponsor Slim Jim(R), are announcing an extension of their partnership today at the 2004 Food Marketing Institute Show (FMI) at McCormick Place in Chicago. The Mirra and Slim Jim sponsorship, which began in 1997, now extends through 2007.

As part of the agreement, Mirra will continue to appear in Slim Jim advertising, publications, marketing and promotional materials, provide personal appearances and interviews for public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  purposes, and maintain his presence on the Slim Jim Web site.

The relationship between Mirra and Slim Jim has been a perfect match. Mirra is the most celebrated stunt bike rider in X-Games history. He has captured a total 14 X-Games medals, including a record 11 gold medals. Mirra has remained a fixture on the action sports circuit and is currently gearing up to compete in the Vans Triple Crown events beginning May 14 in Salt Lake City.

Slim Jim will also be the presenting sponsor of "Vertical Up-Rising," an action sports event at the Kansas Speedway(R) on June 5 as part of the Kansas Lottery $200 Grand ARCA RE/MAX RE/MAX Real Estate Maximums (Canada)  Series race day events. Mirra and skateboard legend Tony Hawk will headline the event that will take place on a vertical ramp in Kansas Speedway's infield, the first time a collective group of action athletes of this caliber has been in the Kansas City area.
