 transportation and logistics firm, today announced that Dave Kimack, 42, has been named President of Vitran's Indianapolis-based Less-than-Truckload unit Vitran Express Vitran Express is a Canadian based corporation (Corp Headquarters: Toronto, ON; U.S. Headquarters: Indianapolis, IN) which provides US domestic and Canadian LTL and expedited freight services. Vitran employees about 2500 people and operates about 100 terminals in the US and Canada. , effective immediately. Mr. Kimack succeeds Rick Gaetz - the division's interim President - who was recently named President and Chief Executive Officer of Vitran Corporation, effective May 2, the date of Vitran's Annual Shareholders Meeting.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Kimack was Vice President of Operations at Vitran Express, and prior to that he was employed by Quast Transfer at the time of its acquisition by Vitran in August 1998. Mr. Kimack has 17 years of overall trucking industry experience.

Mr. Gaetz, stated, "Dave is very deserving of this promotion. He has played a key role in Vitran Express's recent turnaround. We interviewed and met with a number of very qualified candidates from outside of our organization, but Dave possesses the ideal combination of the requisite skills, and appropriate company and industry knowledge for the job."
