) today announced receipt of four orders for radio products totaling $3 million.

The orders for tactical HF (high frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency) The range of electromagnetic frequencies from 30 MHz to 300 MHz.  (very high frequency) radios are from customers in Asia, Europe and Africa. Delivery of these radios is expected to be completed by the end of December 1998.

Datron Systems also announced today it has appointed Richard W. Hyde as the president of Datron World Communications Inc., its communication products and services subsidiary located in Escondido, Calif. Hyde was previously vice president of operations at Datron/Transco Inc., the Company's antenna and imaging systems subsidiary in Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969. , Calif. His background includes 24 years of operations and general management experience gained at Datron/Transco. Hyde succeeds Richard Hercules, who has left Datron World Communications to pursue other interests.

David A. Derby, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Datron Systems, commented, "We are pleased to announce these new orders, the greater value of which are from new customers. Of particular significance is an order for VHF frequency hopping A wireless modulation method that rapidly changes the center frequency of a transmission.
