) Wednesday announced that Jan. 16, 2001 has been set as the date for TelCom's special stockholder meeting to approve the pending merger between Microchip and TelCom.

The special meeting of TelCom stockholders will be held at the TelCom offices at 1300 Terra Bella Ave., Mountain View, Calif., at 10:00 a.m. pacific time.

Stockholders of record of TelCom as of the close of business on Nov. 27, 2000 will be entitled to vote at the meeting. On or about Dec. 7, 2000, TelCom stockholders of record will be sent a copy of the definitive proxy materials Proxy Materials
