Dataware's NetAnswer customers launch new Internet offerings; Gale Research, Copyright Clearance Center, Exxon Research & Engineering Co., US Air Force, and Rohm & Haas among first to adopt NetAnswer 'Super Server'.


CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 1996--Dataware Technologies announces the first wave of customers for its recently launched NetAnswer "super server" software for the World Wide Web.

These include major Web sites for Gale Research, Inc. (www.gale.com/gale.html); Copyright Clearance Center Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) is a not-for-profit U.S. company based in Danvers, Massachusetts, that provides collective copyright licensing services for corporate and academic users of copyrighted materials. , Inc. (www.copyright.com); HealthGate Data Corp. . Gale recently began delivering several of its key databases, including the Encyclopedia of Associations and the Gale Directory of Databases via the Internet using NetAnswer. This enables major customers to access and use these products with an Internet browser, avoiding the additional hardware expense of CD-ROM drives and towers, while still providing powerful, fast electronic searches. The content comprises over 1.5 gigabytes of data.

US Air Force Legal Information Services is using NetAnswer to make its FLITE computer-assisted legal research Technology that allows lawyers and judges to bypass the traditional law library and locate statutes, court cases, and other legal references in minutes using a personal computer, research software or the Internet, and an online connection.  system accessible to select users over the Internet. The officers who are judge advocates and counsel assigned to the accused come from the office of the judge advocate  documents, army documents, contract and fiscal law, emergency action, and environmental law.

Rohm & Haas (Spring House, PA), a world leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals and plastics, uses NetAnswer to provide internal access via the Internet to full-text databases for its research division employees. All researchers currently have an Internet browser for accessing NetAnswer-based corporate text resources. Staff administering the databases use additional tools to manage the NetAnswer text database.
