Since the company, through a reverse acquisition merged with
Babystar Inc. in January, 1995, no meaningful per share data exists
for 1994 for comparison purposes. The results presented for 1994 are
for Datatrend, Inc. currently the sole operating subsidiary of
DataTrend Services, Inc.
The company's business plan has changed significantly since last
year. Service revenue and revenues from managing returns of large
manufactures and retailers accounted for a higher percentage of
total revenues in 1995 than in 1994. These activities, although
resulting in higher operating expenses, can also result in much
higher profit margins.
"Although we experienced some inefficiencies early on in 1995"
said Mark Hanson, President and CEO of Datatrend Services, Inc., "we
really began to execute our plan more effectively toward the end of
1995, and this is reflected in the very positive fourth quarter
results." Hanson also said "Our company is currently recognized as
one of the industry leaders in returns management. We expect
to capitalize on our market position and look forward to continued
growth in the future."
The Company has recently moved its corporate headquarters and
primary operations to Braintree, Mass., to a facility that has nearly
three times the warehouse and manufacturing space as the company's
previous location. The company also has commenced operations in
Memphis, Tenn., primarily to support expanding service opportunities.
"Our recent success has made it necessary to for us to expand our
operations base to accommodate the opportunities we have generated in
recent months," Hanson explained. "Our new facilities have allowed
us to better serve our customers and have positioned us to operate
more efficiently moving forward."
Datatrend Services, Inc. engages in the business of selling new,
refurbished and used computer hardware, as well as managing and
refurbishing the returns of other large computer manufacturers
and retailers.
