Datatel's Pete Nalli Appointed Board Chair for PESC.

) has appointed Datatel's Pete Nalli to Chair of the Board of Directors. Mr. Nalli's appointment became effective at a Board of Directors meeting held in Atlanta, GA during PESC's Fall 2005 Workgroup Summit. The vacancy was created when PESC's former Chair Keith Riccitelli announced to the Board of Directors that he is being appointed Chief Procurement Officer A Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) is an executive role focused on supply management for an enterprise.

"It's an exciting and thrilling time for PESC, and I am honored to serve in this role for the education community," states Mr. Nalli, director of Architecture and Software Development for Datatel. Mr. Nalli has been designing and building software development tools since the mid 70's. In the early 80's, Mr. Nalli co-designed Datatel's first application development environment, which used application generators to build Benefactor, Datatel's first fund-raising solution, and Colleague(R) Datatel's integrated information technology (company) Integrated Information Technology - (IIT) A Santa Clara based company producing a programmable, single chip H.261 and MPEG system. The chip contains a RISC processor, originally based on the MIPS architecture but now called RISCit, and a "Pixel Processor".  solution specifically designed for higher education. In the 90's, Mr. Nalli led Datatel's research and development group, and was instrumental in moving Datatel's architecture from a single database focus to its current three-tier, database-independent design.

For over thirty years, Mr. Nalli has been an innovator of development tools and technical architectures with a constant vision for the future that incorporates solving the business needs of higher education institutions. With this appointment, Mr. Nalli becomes the 4th Chair of PESC's Board of Directors. Founding Chair Mr. Jerry Bracken of Brigham Young University Brigham Young University, at Provo, Utah; Latter-Day Saints; coeducational; opened as an academy in 1875 and became a university in 1903. ), served as Chair for the fiscal year 1999-2000; and Mr. Keith Riccitelli of Sallie Mae served as Chair from 2000.

"The Board and community are very thankful and appreciative to Jerry, C.J., and Keith for their leadership within PESC over the years," Mr. Nalli continued. With the Vice Chair role vacant, as it was previously occupied by Mr. Nalli, the Board of Directors appointed Craig Cornell as Vice Chair. Mr. Cornell has served as Director of Student Financial Aid at Bowling Green State University Bowling Green State University, at Bowling Green, Ohio; coeducational; chartered 1910 as a normal school, opened 1914. It became a college in 1929, a university in 1935.  since June 2003. Prior to that position, he served as Associate Director of financial aid at Kent State University. Mr. Cornell has held various positions within the financial aid community, including Chair of the Technology Initiatives Committee under the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA NASFAA National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators ). In 2002 that Committee was named NASFAA Committee of the Year. The PESC Board of Directors appointed Mr. Cornell based on a recommendation from Dr. Dallas Martin, President of NASFAA and founding PESC Board Member.
