Datasweep to Provide Process Control, Visibility, and Decision Support for Storage Networking Leader to Drive Operational Excellence

Datasweep, Inc., the leader in Web-based Integrated Plant Systems (IPS), announced today that QLogic Corp (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leader in integrated storage networking, has selected the Datasweep(R) Advantage(TM) product suite for manufacturing process control, supplier management and quality solutions to drive improved operations performance both inside the organization and with its trading partners. QLogic will use Datasweep's web-based solutions to more effectively manage production operations and ensure high product quality, from incoming supplier inspection through production to post-sales service. In addition, QLogic chose Datasweep for its real-time decision support and corrective action capabilities that will help identify and address operations issues more quickly to improve time-to-quality, reduce product and process costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Supplier Management to Improve Product Quality

QLogic plans to use the Datasweep Advantage product to monitor and manage incoming quality inspection and on-time delivery, and to track supplier parts and assemblies throughout manufacturing, repair and service. QLogic will use the Datasweep Advantage suite's closed-loop, top down quality solution to manage internal manufacturing processes, as well as supplier corrective action requests, to ensure that quality issues are quickly identified and efficiently resolved. QLogic will also use Datasweep Advantage to manage return material authorization (RMA) and repairs, while leveraging Datasweep's web-enabled solutions to drive fact-based engineering change and speed new product introductions by integrating product level as-designed data with unit level as-built and as-maintained product data.

QLogic will integrate the Datasweep Advantage suite with its PDM and ERP enterprise applications, using Datasweep to provide real-time manufacturing and repair information to other critical business systems to improve operations performance.
