"Through years of customer experience, we have learned what technology is necessary to support mission-critical operations. Being an integral part of manufacturing operations demands the highest standards of reliability, scalability and security -- features we are proud to deliver in our 6.0 release," said Vladimir Preysman, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "In an enterprise environment, software systems need to seamlessly interoperate, which requires integration through common standards such as Web Services. The new Datasweep 6.0 version delivers a next-generation architecture and exceptional system performance for enterprise operations across the product lifespan."

"Datasweep is delivering an innovative and new approach to manufacturing systems through the new J2EE-based version of its flagship Datasweep Advantage suite," said Greg Gorbach, Research Director at ARC Advisory Group. "With globalization globalization

Process by which the experience of everyday life, marked by the diffusion of commodities and ideas, is becoming standardized around the world. Factors that have contributed to globalization include increasingly sophisticated communications and transportation
and outsourcing on the increase, a large-scale and service-based approach helps manufacturers respond quickly to market demand, while retaining key knowledge and visibility across a global product lifespan. This will change the way businesses support product traceability and responsibility, better align operations IT with enterprise IT, and establish a new value proposition within manufacturing for best-in-class production operations management."

Benefits of J2EE in Manufacturing

A J2EE-based platform supports mission-critical requirements in enterprise manufacturing operations through high performance, scalability and reliability. The world's largest corporations have selected J2EE as the de-facto platform standard on which to build enterprise applications. Datasweep's newest product suite is aligned with this strategy, and designed to deliver stability and freedom of platform choice to global manufacturers.

The new Datasweep Advantage suite helps reduce risk of unplanned and disruptive downtime and costs attributed to multiple security-related software patches and breaches. The system lowers total cost of ownership through increased resource utilization and reduced time and cost of integration, and leverages the investment made in current IT systems.

A Service-based Approach to Implementation

A service-based approach gives manufacturers the freedom to integrate multiple application components into a single business process. Through externalized business processes and easily accessible components and functionality, the new Datasweep version helps IT easily assemble best-in-class enterprise systems with the Datasweep suite as the core system of unit record across all products.

The Datasweep services-based architecture creates an adaptive environment to manage and maintain knowledge of the complete product lifespan across plants, suppliers and geographies.

The Datasweep Advantage suite was originally written in Microsoft(R) J++(R), Microsoft's version of Java, and has been migrated to a J2EE environment. It is a natural transition and is being released as an upgrade to Datasweep customers, maintaining a high degree of compatibility to preserve existing investment in modules and features from previous versions.
