, who serves as industry expert. The topic of the segment is The E-Supply Chain on episode No. 628.

"Datasweep, Inc. was selected to appear on the show because they provide Web-centric supply chain manufacturing solutions for manufacturers of complex or 'built-to-order' products that outsource different segments of their manufacturing processes. Datasweep solutions allow manufacturers to better control, manage, and maintain their operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. In practice, many of these groupings may overlap. ," says Barry Reuben, the show's Coordinating Producer.

As product designs and technologies continue to emerge and change at a rapid rate, demand is increased for Internet-based solutions that track and analyze production for companies that produce built-to-order products and out-source portions of their manufacturing processes. Miklovic feels that manufacturers are turning more and more toward Internet-based solutions. "The Internet is everywhere," states Miklovic, "It's a global technology. You don't have to get on a plane; it saves time and money. It's a faster, cheaper, and more reliable way to do business," he adds. Datasweep, Inc. has identified this demand, and in response has created Internet-based solutions that enable real-time collaboration between manufacturers and their supply chain partners to cut down on the time to market and improve their bottom line.

Preysman appears on World Business Review to discuss exactly how his firm has developed Web-centric supply chain manufacturing solutions for companies who are outsourcing much of their manufacturing to meet the increasing demand for built-to-order products. "So many companies are leaning toward customized manufacturing and outsourcing because of the speed with which new designs and technologies emerge and change. Keeping up with these changes saves both time and money," says Preysman.

Datasweep, Inc. coordinates operating systems on a worldwide basis, which results in a reduction in the flow of paper in these operating systems. Preysman explains exactly how his firm assists `built-to-order' and outsourcing manufacturers control, maintain, and reduce paper in their operating systems. "As products become so different, everyone wants to do something different every time. Workers have difficulty keeping up with this. What we do is deliver work instructions to the workplace, so if the changes take place, the workers instantaneously see how to build the new product," Preysman says. He adds that "in addition, manufacturers running on the leading edge of technology find that sometimes they have successes and failures, thus they need to find out the reason behind their successes and failures. We provide a way to record all of that data and do analysis using very sophisticated technology, because the only thing that really matters in the end is what people do on the factory floor.

Changes in technology have created demand for more and varied manufactured products. The differences in manufacturing large quantities versus `made-to-order' goods has also changed the way manufacturers view their production process. "When manufacturers customize their production, they care how long it takes, and manufacturing is now under a magnifying glass magnifying glass: see microscope.

to serve the individual product and nothing else. We also provide instructions for workers and tools for analyzing collective data test and failure analysis, as well as step-by-step evaluation of what's happening with each individual unit of product," Preysman explains.

Because of changing technologies and language barriers stemming from outsourcing on a global basis, Datasweep, Inc.'s software is capable of language translation through JAVA, and offers clear and concise instruction that cuts the training time of workers. "Once you have trained them in a particular area," says Preysman, "it's easier to train them in new revisions of the same product."

Datasweep's focus for their future puts an emphasis on speed, and the tools that can keep up with the required speed as mass production changes to specialized `built-to-order' production. "The Internet is clearly fueling this change," states Preysman.
