Datasonix names Lew Frauenfelder president and CEO.


BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 1995--Datasonix Corp., the mobile storage products company, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Lew Frauenfelder as president and chief executive officer.

Frauenfelder, 55, joins Datasonix after serving as president of Fujitsu Computer Products of America (FCPA FCPA Foreign Corrupt Practices Act

), where he was responsible for the development, manufacturing, marketing, sales and customer support of the company's broad product line. In his new position at Datasonix, Frauenfelder will focus on the operational and organizational development and management of the company which more than doubled in size in its first year. During the same period, Datasonix's first product, Pereos, has received tremendous opinion leader recognition and market interest.

James D. Greenup, 47, founding president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Datasonix, was named executive vice president of marketing and sales, a new position. Greenup was instrumental in the search for the new president and chief executive officer.

Lew Frauenfelder Background

Frauenfelder was named FCPA's first president in 1991 when the company was formed as a subsidiary of Fujitsu America Inc., the $1.6 billion subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd. Prior to joining FCPA in 1991, Frauenfelder was the president of Intellistor, a company he founded in 1983. Intellistor is a leading developer of controllers, subsystems, and small form factor disk drives for advanced computer products.

Frauenfelder also served as vice president of engineering at the Storage Technology Corp. from 1977 to 1983. Prior to 1977, he spent 10 years at IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  in design and management positions contributing to the development of data storage products.
