Dataram's 16GB DRH8620/16GB memory option consists of four 4GB 125MHz ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly. See ECC memory.

(2) (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) A public key cryptography method that provides fast decryption and digital signature processing.
SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s. SDRAM chips eliminated wait states by dividing the chip into two cell blocks and interleaving data between them.  DIMMs and is guaranteed to be 100% form, fit and function compatible with HP's systems. In addition to the new 16GB upgrade, Dataram also offers 4 and 8GB upgrades for both systems saving customers 50% or more.

"Dataram has been developing and manufacturing memory for the HP product line since 1967," stated Jeff Goldenbaum, Dataram's Senior Product Manager. "Our new 16GB upgrade is another example of Dataram's commitment to provide customers with the highest quality products at substantial savings. Switching to Dataram memory is a great way for IT managers to deliver powerful servers without breaking the budget."

The building blocks of the HP 9000 rp7420, rp8420 and Integrity rx7620 and rx8620 servers are the Cell Boards. The Cell Boards contain the processors, slots for memory, and other hardware that interface the memory, processors and I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.
