Dataram First to Ship High-Capacity Memory Upgrades for Compaq ProLiant 6000 Servers.


PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11, 1997--Dataram Corporation, a leading provider of gigabyte memory upgrades for UNIX UNIX

Operating system for digital computers, developed by Ken Thompson of Bell Laboratories in 1969. It was initially designed for a single user (the name was a pun on the earlier operating system Multics).
 and Windows/NT workstations and servers, announces the immediate availability of high-capacity memory upgrades for the Compaq ProLiant 6000 servers with Intel Pentium(R) Pro processors.

The Compaq ProLiant 6000 line of high-performance servers is optimized for high availability Also called "RAS" (reliability, availability, serviceability) or "fault resilient," it refers to a multiprocessing system that can quickly recover from a failure. There may be a minute or two of downtime while one system switches over to another, but processing will continue.  and ease-of-service -- in mission-critical environments such as databases, groupware, intranets, and messaging. Dataram supports the ProLiant 6000 with upgrade capacities of 256MB, 512MB and 1024MB. Maximum capacity of these systems is 4GB.

6000/256 is $3,805, DRQ6000/512 is $7,423 and the DRQ6000/1024 is $14,765. Dataram offers memory upgrades as a cost-effective alternative to purchasing memory from the system manufacturer. Dataram memory products are typically priced up to 50% lower than the system manufacturer.
