Dataram's 8GB upgrade (DRSX4100/8GB) doubles the Sun Fire X4100 and X4200 servers to 32GB of memory, the most available in the industry.

The 1, 2 and 4GB capacities of Dataram's DRSX4100 each consists of a matched pair of DDR (Double Data Rate) Refers to an SDRAM memory chip that increases performance by doubling the effective data rate of the frontside bus. For more details, see SDRAM.

"Enabling our customers to attain the maximum memory capacity on their Sun systems is an ongoing priority at Dataram. Dataram's new family of high-performance memory for X4100 and X4200 enables these systems to operate at peak efficiency," stated Tony Pawlik, Dataram's Vice President of Sales. "In addition to providing high-capacity first-to-market products, Dataram memory options are typically priced up to 50% less than Sun's memory upgrades," added Mr. Pawlik.
