The IBM eServer 326 is especially well suited to memory-intensive applications and features dual AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  Opteron processors with eight memory slots. Slots 1-4 are used in a single processor configuration and slots 5-8 are activated in a dual processor configuration.
