PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2000

Dataram Corporation (Nasdaq:DRAM) a leading provider of gigabyte-class memory for high-performance network servers, today announces immediate availability of memory products for Compaq's ultra-thin 1U ProLiant DL360 server.

Sensitive to the need for more space saving racking solutions, the DL360 server, formally known as Photon, radically simplifies installing, managing, upgrading and servicing in complex multi-server environments. With up to two 800MHz/256K cache Pentium III processors and expansion from 128MB to 4GB of 133MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s. SDRAM chips eliminated wait states by dividing the chip into two cell blocks and interleaving data between them.  ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly. See ECC memory.

(2) (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) A public key cryptography method that provides fast decryption and digital signature processing.

The ProLiant DL360 targets customers who are focused on saving space in the data center and plan to scale their environment by adding servers by the tens, hundreds or even the thousands. The incredible, ultra-thin 1U chassis houses state-of-the-art components while the space saving 1U design enables up to 42 servers and 84 processors in an industry standard 42U rack.

Dataram's memory offerings are available in 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities.

"Floor space is at a premium these days for ISPs and ASPs," states Jeff Goldenbaum, Dataram's product manager. "Compaq's DL360 will go head-to-head with other dense rack servers like Sun's Netra t1 and IBM's RS/6000 B50. High performance 1U servers are in high demand right now and we are pleased to be able to immediately offer memory products for these types of systems at significant savings," concluded Goldenbaum.

The new Compaq ProLiant DL360 offers uncompromising performance, expanded availability, unprecedented configuration flexibility and is the next progression for Compaq as a leader in the dense rack server market.
