Dataquest Expects IT Education and Training Market to Near $9 Billion This Year.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 1995--In the wake of the trend toward business process re-engineering, companies are spending more money to educate and train their employees, according to a new Dataquest report that forecasts the worldwide education and training market to reach $8.9 billion worldwide in 1995. Dataquest predicts that within five years education and training will represent 4.8 percent of all information technology (IT) services expenditures, which is more than half of what is spent on traditional software support.

"Life after downsizing means heavy doses of IT education and training for survival," said Dennis Wayson, director and principal analyst of Dataquest's professional services program. "These lean companies are asking employees to accomplish more in shorter periods of time, and one way to accomplish that is through ample IT education and training."
