Dataproducts Promotes Bill Melo to Director of International Marketing.


SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969. , Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 1998--Bill Melo has been named director of International Marketing for Dataproducts Corp./Group Hitachi Koki, it was announced Monday by Michael T. Stramaglio, senior vice president and general manager of Dataproducts' Imaging Systems and Solutions Division.

Melo previously served as International Marketing Manager for Dataproducts.

Dataproducts is a subsidiary of Group Hitachi Koki which manufactures and markets one of the world's broadest lines of hardcopy print solutions, including the new Digital Document Servers DDS (1) (Digital Data Storage) See DAT.

Prior to joining Dataproducts, Melo previously served as National Marketing Manager of the Imaging Solutions Business Division of Ricoh Corp. in West Caldwell, N.J. Over the course of nine years with Ricoh, Melo held a number of executive marketing management positions including National Pricing and Program Manager of the National Marketing Group, National Program Manager of the Direct Division and Senior Pricing and Competitive Analyst.

Prior to joining Ricoh, Melo spent two years as accounting manager/financial analyst at Tiger Information Systems, New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
. He also worked in a variety of positions in the burgeoning music video industry, including a six-month term at the then-startup MTV Networks in 1981.

A native of New Jersey, Melo earned his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Montclair State College in Upper Montclair, N.J., and holds a master of business administration degree from New York University New York University, mainly in New York City; coeducational; chartered 1831, opened 1832 as the Univ. of the City of New York, renamed 1896. It comprises 13 schools and colleges, maintaining 4 main centers (including the Medical Center) in the city, as well as the , Leonard N. Stern Leonard Norman Stern is the Chairman and CEO of the privately owned Hartz Group based in New York City. Additionally, he oversees operations of the extensive Hartz real estate portfolio owned and operated under its Hartz Mountain Industries subsidiary company, of which he also  School of Business.

Dataproducts Inc., established in 1962, is the manufacturer and supplier of the world's broadest line of hardcopy printing solutions including digital document servers, DDS high-speed laser printers, dot matrix printers, band printers and continuous forms laser printers.

Dataproducts also produces printer "engines" and consumables for virtually all the major computer system providers in the office products field.
