Datang Mobile Licenses Express Logic's ThreadX(R) RTOS for 3G-Wireless Phone Handsets.

See real time system, embedded system, process control and OS-9. ), today announced that it has entered into a software license agreement with Datang Mobile Communications Equipment Co., Ltd. (Datang Mobile), a leading telecommunications corporation in China.

) in March 2001 as one of the 3G mobile communications standards. TD-SCDMA is the Chinese contribution to the ITU's IMT-2000 specification for third-generation (3G) wireless mobile services.

Datang and Express Logic also are entering into extensive discussions intended to enable Datang Mobile to distribute Express Logic's ThreadX RTOS throughout the world. Under this new agreement, Express Logic's products will be integrated into Datang Mobile's UE (User Equipment) solution for 3G wireless phone equipment where ThreadX would be used to manage the software that controls RF communications between the phone and network base stations.
