Datalight's Reliance Data is Portable to Windows Desktop with Version 2.0.

BOTHELL, Wash. -- Datalight, which specializes in providing essential system software to help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) bring highly reliable devices to market more quickly, today released enhancements to its signature products Reliance and FlashFX Pro with versions 2.0.

Reliance is a transactional file system, specifically designed for embedded Inserted into. See embedded system.  devices, which preserves both user data and metadata during an unexpected power loss. Additionally, Reliance exhibits faster boot times and write speeds than file systems that employ logging or journaling. Reliance v2.0 includes a Windows XP/2000 driver to enable the proprietary Reliance formatted data to be read on desktop systems. The addition of this feature allows users to experience the benefits of data portability, while being protected by a unique data format.

Datalight's multi-threaded flash media manager, FlashFX Pro, ensures the integrity of stored data by supporting atomic writes into unused areas of a flash device. FlashFX Pro offers support for nearly 100 flash parts and now, with the launch of version 2.0, supports new flash technologies such as 90nm NOR from Intel.
