Dataflight introduces Concordance for Windows.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 1995--Dataflight Software debuts Concordance v5.40 for Windows, a powerful full text search and retrieval database manager for single users and enterprise-wide office applications.

Combining the flexibility of the Windows graphical user interface (GUI) with sophisticated search and retrieval functions, the new product can be used for high-speed, high-efficiency text database management and economical document imaging, according to Dataflight Software President Jeffrey Lipsman.

Concordance v5.40 for Windows retains all of the speed and power of the earlier versions, enhanced by the simplicity of the Windows graphical user interface and advanced print design functions. Beginners can learn search functions faster; advanced users can search and display retrieval information more efficiently.

The new version supports fuzzy logic, a more flexible searching technique which locates keywords even if they are misspelled or mistyped. It also performs field group searches and field wild card searches that improve the range of document searchability.

   A new way to browse retrieval information, table view displays text
   in a spreadsheet-like format.  Colors, fonts and column widths are
   adjustable with a click of the mouse.

   A small but powerful addition that tracks documents as they are
   reviewed with a header in the Windows title bar.  The feature makes
   long documents easier to manage.
-- KWIC printing:
   Key Word In Context printing allows users to print only the lines
   of text with a search hit in them, improving retrieval from very
   long documents, such as legal depositions.
-- Report writer:
   Enhanced with Windows fonts and print control, the columnar report
   writer also produces attractive form letters with substitute text,
   calculated data, and conditional inclusion of text and data.

   The software supports Dataflight Software's own image viewer as
   well as most stand-alone image viewing systems.
