Dataflex announces second quarter results.


EDISON, N.J.--Nov. 6, 1995--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dataflex Corporation (Nasdaq:DFLX) announced today that its revenues increased by $49,965,000, or 86.3%, to $107,844,000 for the second quarter ended September 30, 1995, as compared with $57,879,000 for the second quarter ended September 30, 1994.

Net income for the quarter decreased by $519,000, or 78.5%, to $142,000, or $0.03 per share, as compared with $661,000, or $0.15 per share, in the second quarter of the prior fiscal year. For the six months ended September 30, 1995, revenues increased by $106,515,000, or 95.4%, to $218,169,000, as compared with $111,654,000 in the prior year six-month period. Net income for the six months ended September 30, 1995 decreased by $730,000, or 61.8%, to $452,000 or $0.08 per share as compared with $1,182,000, or $0.26 per share in the prior year. The decrease in net income for the quarter and six-month period primarily results from substantially higher interest costs associated with additional debt from recent acquisitions and higher levels of working capital.

Service revenues, which includes consulting, training, networking, on-site maintenance and project management, increased by $11,490,000, or 104.9% to $22,443,000. Revenue increases over the prior period reflect continued growth and the impact of recent acquisitions.
