DataTools, Inc. Announces the General Availability of SQL-BackTrack for Oracle.

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 1995--DataTools, Inc. announced the release of SQL-BackTrack(TM) for Oracle, a Database-Aware(TM) backup and recovery product for Oracle databases. SQL-BackTrack for Oracle supports Oracle7(TM) and above. SQL-BackTrack for Oracle is available immediately.

According to META Group's Open Computing & Server Strategies service, "SQL-BackTrack for Oracle should be quite complementary and attractive to Oracle users seeking a non-intrusive backup/recovery tool."

SQL-BackTrack for Oracle's features include fast physical backup, guided recovery, an easy-to-use menu-driven interface, parallel backup streams, compression, and encryption.

SQL-BackTrack for Oracle, which shares a common back-end interface with the SQL-BackTrack for Sybase product, can be used to back up directly to disk or tape, or to any backup storage management partner that integrates with DataTools' Open Backup Stream Interface (OBSI). These OBSI modules include AT&T CommVault's AT&T Backup, IBM's Adstar Distributed Storage Manager (ADSM), and Legato's NetWorker.

Configuration, Price and Availability

SQL-BackTrack for Oracle supports Oracle7 and above. It is available immediately on SunOS and Solaris. Versions running on HP/UX and IBM AIX will be available this fall, SQL-BackTrack is available from both BMC Software and DataTools offices, agents, and distributors worldwide. For new licenses, SQL-BackTrack costs $4595 per Oracle database host. Special introductory pricing available.
