DataMirror, Aspen Ventures II and AVI Capital have invested a total of US $3,600,000 in DataBahn, a Java database developer. DataBahn will use the funds to further accelerate its development, marketing and sales activities. Aspen Ventures, located in Los Altos, California, has extensive experience in information technologies and has invested in dozens of early-stage companies, including Cornerstone, SmartDB, StarVox, and Thru-Put. AVI Management has financed the creation of over 45 public companies, including 3Com, Apple Computer, Intraspect and Objectivity. DataBahn, with headquarters in San Mateo, California, has brought to market an embedded dynamic footprint relational database written entirely in Java.
