DataMentors president Bob Orf said that enhancements in this version focused primarily on making the product even more user friendly, as well as more efficient by using automation to access additional information easily. "The bottom line is that users now can get more customized, complete and consistent information about their customers, faster and with less work on their part than ever before," said Orf.

New features in DataFuse 2.40 include:
-- Customer specific user defined tables. This allows the ability to override and add entries in the DataFuse Information Library with no worry that these entries may get overwritten by new releases.

-- Totally automated match exception tables. Users can create a match exception table for any match field, enter values that should not be considered during matching, causing the system to automatically generate the correct scripts.

-- The file viewer, used to view permanent or temporary files on screen, now allows searching and filtering with no limitation on file size. It also supports files that are non-standard to DataFuse and recognizes EBCDIC and packed fields.

Orf said that other efficiency and consistency-driven enhancements include adopting a fixed font that makes run statistics easier to read; the ability for users to skip unnecessary steps during the run phase; automation of the incremental Additional or increased growth, bulk, quantity, number, or value; enlarged.
