DataMEG Corp. Subsidiary, CAS Communications, Inc., Signs Agreement with Operadora Protel SA de CV -Protel-.

DataMEG Corp. (OTCBB:DTMG)subsidiary, CAS Communications, Inc. (CASCO), announced today after lengthy discussions and technical due diligence that they have signed a significant landmark Agreement with Operadora Protel SA de CV (Protel).

The initial Agreement calls for a joint effort between CAS Communications, Inc. and Protel, to determine how best to integrate and deploy CASCO's Multi Phase Poly Tone Communications System (MPTC) into Protels' cable operating networks. Since inception, Protel has vertically- integrated itself as a multi-billion dollar international conglomerate.

The companies have also discussed utilizing the fixed wireless systems available through Broadband Mobile Technologies, Inc. (BMT) as an additional network conduit available to the MPTS system. DataMEG Corp. has signed a Letter of Intent and a Term Sheet with BMT that outlines DataMEG Corp.'s offer to purchase 49% of BMT.

Founded in 1995, Protel (www.protel.net.mx) has developed into one of Mexico's largest and most progressive telecommunication company's. Protel operates one of the Mexico's largest international long-distance gateways and has licenses to carry telecom traffic to the US, Mexico, Central America and the rest of the world. It has its own national fiber optic Cisco Powered Network that currently serves 51 cities in Mexico and has one of the most significant Cable infrastructures in Mexico.

In 1998, Protel signed a strategic alliance with Ekonom, to offer value added telecom services such as data transmission, e-mail, dedicated and dial up Internet access, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Internet-based e-commerce. In 2000 Protel, through a subsidiary (iNext), signed a Voice-over Internet-Protocol (VoIP) service agreement with iBasis, Inc. (US) to become the first Mexican telecom carrier to provide VoIP based international service in Mexico. As part of this agreement, Protel is able to route international voice and fax calls over the iBasis network.

Mr. Anthony Boiardi, CEO CAS Communications, Inc. stated, "This is obviously an important and vital step forward for the Company. This working Agreement provides CASCO with an immediate opportunity to obtain field network testing in a growing telecommunications market. We are scheduling meetings in Mexico City and will be moving ahead with this project. The MPTC system will be deployed in a series of field trials within the next 30-days. Our on-going agreement with Protel calls for additional deployment of the CASCO system throughout Mexico and other Latin American countries under various joint venture protocols currently being negotiated amongst the corporate officials."
