DataCert's General Counsel Mark Poag Named 2006 Outstanding Corporate Counsel.


HOUSTON -- DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of electronic invoicing and legal spend management solutions, is proud to announce that General Counsel Mark Poag was selected as the 2006 Outstanding Solo Corporate Counsel by the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Houston Business Journal. The award, previously categorized as "Best Solo General Counsel," recognizes expertise and accomplishment by in-house counsel in the field of corporate law.

Poag was selected as the winner by a distinguished panel which included retired Judge Ruby Kless Sondock Justice Ruby Kless Sondock was the first woman to serve on the Texas Supreme Court. Valedictorian of her class (1962) at the University of Houston Law Center, Justice Sondock was also the first woman to be appointed as a State District Judge in Harris County, Texas.  and the former General Counsel of Toshiba International Corporation Michelle M. Hedges. More than 60 nominations were submitted.

Poag was awarded the honor for his legal contribution to DataCert's recent expansion into Europe, as well as his successful handling of highly complex litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right.
