"CRx-139: A Novel Synergistic Drug Candidate Targeted for the Treatment of Immuno-Inflammatory Disease", E.R. Price, et.al. (Abstract #3374), will be presented on Monday, November 13, 9-11:00am ET and "CRx-102: Molecular Insight into Steroid Dissociation for CRx-102, a Clinically Active Immunomodulatory Agent", E.R. Price, et.al. (Abstract #3263), will be presented on Tuesday, November 14, 9-11:00 am ET.

In addition to the poster presentations, CombinatoRx will host a webcast investor event on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC. The event will include presentations and a moderated Q&A panel by CRx-102 clinical investigators, Dr. Tore Kvien and Dr. John Kirwan. CRx-102 and CRx-139 are oral synergistic combination drug candidates with novel mechanisms of action targeting multiple biological pathways simultaneously. Synergistic combinations are comprised of two compounds acting together to provide a novel therapeutic effect which neither compound can achieve alone. CRx-102 contains the cardiovascular drug dipyridamole dipyridamole /di·py·rid·a·mole/ (di?pi-rid´ah-mol) a platelet inhibitor and coronary vasodilator used to prevent thromboembolism associated with mechanical heart valves, to treat transient ischemic attacks, and as an adjunct in  and an unconventionally low dose of the steroid prednisolone prednisolone /pred·nis·o·lone/ (pred-nis´ah-lon) a synthetic glucocorticoid derived from cortisol, used in the form of the base or the acetate, sodium phosphate, or tebutate ester in replacement therapy for adrenocortical insufficiency, . CRx-139 contains paroxetine paroxetine /par·ox·e·tine/ (pah-rok´se-ten) a selective serotonin uptake inhibitor used as the hydrochloride salt to treat depression and obsessive-compulsive, panic, and social anxiety disorders. , an SSRI SSRI selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
