Data on Air and WirelessDeveloper Team Up to Launch Virtual Environment for Developers of Wireless Data Applications.

Business/Technology Editors

Data on Air's New Virtual Developer Lab(TM) hosted service is

breakthrough for developers

Wireless data developers no longer have to battle for access to commercial networks or settle for inadequate lab simulation schemes to build and debug To correct a problem in hardware or software. Debugging software means locating the errors in the source code (the program logic). Debugging hardware means finding errors in the circuit design (logical circuits) or in the physical interconnections of the circuits.  their applications thanks to a new hosted service from Data on Air, Inc., called Virtual Developer Lab(TM). The new service is the result of a partnership announced today between Data on Air and WirelessDeveloper. The companies expect that Virtual Developer Lab will benefit the entire wireless data industry by accelerating the development and deployment of wireless applications which, in turn, will help increase demand for wireless services while adding value and convenience for subscribers.

Application developers participating in the program will "rent" space on Data on Air's array of mobile access gateway (MAG (MAGnetic) A common abbreviation for magnetic. Under the program, developers have direct access to Data on Air's MAGs, the same infrastructure that actually hosts live services for its growing base of commercial wireless data carriers.

WirelessDeveloper is actively promoting the Virtual Developer Lab to its community of over 21,000 software developers and their suppliers. Data on Air is a leader in creating and delivering wireless data services and technology for carriers.

Bypassing direct gateway access means simulation of applications, which really is inadequate to fully test the application as a commercially available service. WirelessDeveloper is pleased to work with Data on Air to introduce the Virtual Developer Lab to members of our developer community as the lab of the future -- a new era of freedom and efficiency."
